IT’S TIME TO DREAM AGAIN

“Characteristics of Those Who Pursue God-Dreams (Part One)“
Pastor Doug Heisel – January 16, 2022

Syncing Up With The Dreams God Has For You

1 Samuel 16:7 — But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Characteristics of Those Who Pursue God-Dreams

  1. They go after GOD first.

Acts 13:22 — After removing Saul, the Lord made David their king. God testified concerning him: “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.”

Psalm 63:1-4 — You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek You; I thirst for You, my whole being longs for You, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory. Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands.

  2. They are FAITHFUL STEWARDS over what they have been entrusted with now.

    1 Samuel 17:14-15 — “…David was Jesse's youngest son. He took care of his father's sheep…”

  3. They refuse to waste time fighting the WRONG battles and learn to control their EMOTIONS.

1 Samuel 17:28-30 — David’s oldest brother Eliab heard him talking with the soldiers. Eliab was angry at him and said, "What are you doing here, anyway? Who's taking care of that little flock of sheep out in the desert? You spoiled brat! You came here just to watch the fighting, didn't you?" "Now what have I done? Can't I even ask a question?” Then David turned and asked another soldier the same thing…”

  4. Their faith in God is deep and personal so that they SEE and DECLARE what can be not just what is.

1 Samuel 17:32-37 — David said to Saul, "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him." “…The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine."
