Replacing INSECURITY with Godly CONFIDENCE

Three Great Days in Your Life

• The day you discover you’re a CHILD OF GOD, not just His creation

• The day you discover your God-given PURPOSE

• The day you discover that your God-given purpose is BIGGER than you

Matthew 16:24-26 – Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”

• When we are bigger than our purpose … We have a CAREER

• When our purpose is bigger than ourselves… We have a CALLING

We have confused passion for purpose. Don’t get me wrong, passion is needed.

Passion MOVES us, but Purpose DIRECTS us.

Romans 12:2 – Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Godly Confidence Begins With…

• Not SETTLING with SELF-CONFIDENCE
  
  Matthew 16:25 – For whoever wants to save their life will lose it…
  
  

• SURRENDERING rather than STRIVING
  
  Philippians 1:6 – And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
  
  

• Understand SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE
  
  Matthew 16:26a – What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
