“The Gift of God’s Word”

John 1:1 – In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1. God reveals HIMSELF to you through His Word.
   
   Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
   
   Jeremiah 33:3 – Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.
   
   Jeremiah 15:16 – Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts.
   
   

2. Reading God’s Word brings DELIGHT and JOY to your soul.
   
   Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
   
   

3. God’s Word is YOUR WEAPON.
   
   2 Corinthians 10:4-5 – The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
