2 Peter 1:4 — Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Today’s Promise

Romans 8:28 — And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Clearing up Some Erroneous Ideas About This Verse

  1. This promise does not say, “God MAKES all things happen”.

  2. This promise does not say, “Everything happens for a reason” – as if to say, “All THINGS have some good purpose”.

  3. This promise does not say, “God will turn all bad things into GOOD things”.

What This Promise Does Tell Us

  1. God will show up and go to work IN all things. …in all things

  2. God can PRODUCE something good out of something bad. …for the good …God causes all things to work together for good…

Two Applications

  1. Develop your relationship WITH Jesus. …for the good of those who love Him.

  2. Surrender to the Lord's PURPOSE. …called according to His purpose.
