But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.

T TIME

1 Peter 1:17-19 — Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Ephesians 5:15-17 — Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity (redeeming the time), because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

Time-STEWARDSHIP > Time-MANAGEMENT

Stewardship asks:
WHOSE time am I managing,
and for
WHOSE purpose?

Romans 11:36 — For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

How “Time Stewards” Think

  1. Time Stewards believe that they have all the TIME and all the POWER to do everything God wants them to do, as they daily SURRENDER to His will and ways.

  2. Time Stewards understand that in order to enjoy the PEACE Jesus wants to give, they have to adopt the PACE Jesus lived.

    Matthew 11:28-30
    — (Jesus said) Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Two Key Thoughts About Rhythms of Grace

  • Daily commit to being a SEEK FIRST person, rather than RUN AFTER person.

    Matthew 6:31-33
    — So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

  • Weekly establish a holy rhythm of GATHERING with God’s people to worship Jesus and RECALIBRATE your soul.

    Exodus 20:8-11
    — Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days a week are set apart for your daily duties and regular work, but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any kind of work...For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; then he rested on the seventh day. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
