Elijah on Mt. Carmel
1 Kings 18:16-39

1. A person that follows both walks TOWARDS and AWAY at the same time.
   
   Matthew 4:19 — “Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”
   
   

2. A life lived in PURSUIT of anything other than God OVERPROMISES and UNDERDELIVERS.
   
   Romans 3:23 — “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
   
   

3. IDEAL CIRCUMSTANCES are not required for God to bring about his IDEAL PLAN.
   
   Romans 12:1 — “Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.
