“Wisdom Ain’t Enough”

1 Chronicles 28:9-10 — “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it.”

I Kings 2:1-4 — “Now the days of David drew near that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying: “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn; that the Lord may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said, ‘you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.”

I Kings 2:12 — Then Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingship was established.

You get ANOINTED for it. You get APPOINTED to it. You get ESTABLISHED in it.

I Kings 3:14 — So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

I Kings 6:11-13 — “Then the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying: “Concerning this temple which you are building, if you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, then I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.”

1. We must keep the right HEART posture before the Lord.

I Kings 9:4 — Now if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments…

I Kings 9:6 — But if you or your sons at all turn from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them…

2. The WISDOM of God will get you there, but it’s the CONVICTIONS of God that will keep you there.

Proverbs 9:10 — “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

3. We must stay connected to the right VINE.

John 15:5 — “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
