LOVE-OLOGY

“Christ-like Love in Our World”

John 3:16 — For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 Corinthians 13:4-6 — Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1. In a culture that is HARSH AND CRITICAL, Christ’s love teaches us to PROTECT.
   
   1 Corinthians 13:7 — Love “always protects...”
   
   1 Peter 4:8 — “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
   
   Proverbs 19:11 —“...it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”
   

2. In a culture marked by cynicism, Christ’s love teaches us to BELIEVE AND EXPECT the best from others.
   
   1 Corinthians 13:7 — Love “always trusts, always hopes…”
   

3. In a culture marked by fickle and fragile love, Christ’s love teaches us to ENDURE.
   
   1 Cor. 13:7 — Love “always perseveres…”
