GRACE WINS
“Jesus Has a Word For You”
Pastor Doug Heisel — April 17, 2022
Romans 5:20 — When it is sin versus grace, grace wins hands down.
Jesus is saying: I am greater than the CIRCUMSTANCES that overwhelm you.
Mark 16:2-4 — Very early on that day, the first day of the week, soon after sunrise, the women were on their way to the tomb. They said to each other, “Who will roll away for us the stone that covers the entrance of the tomb?” Then the women looked and saw that the stone had already been rolled away, even though it was very large…
John 20:11,13 — Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. …“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”
Jesus is saying: I am doing more FOR you than you can even imagine.
Luke 24:5-8 — (The angel said), “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you, while He was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ “ Then they remembered his words.
1 Corinthians 15:17 — And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
Colossians 2:13-15 — You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, He disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross.
Jesus is saying: I know you by name and I have unique plans for you that your PAST cannot keep you from.
Mark 16:9 — After Jesus rose from the dead early on the first day of the week, He showed Himself first to Mary Magdalene. One time in the past, He had forced seven demons out of her.
John 20:15-18 — Thinking He was the gardener, she said to Him, “Did you take Him away, sir? Tell me where you put Him, and I will get Him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” Mary turned toward Jesus and said in the Jewish language, “Rabboni.” (This means Teacher.) Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold on to me, because I have not yet gone up to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going back to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” Mary Magdalene went and said to the followers, “I saw the Lord!” And she told them what Jesus had said to her.
My Easter Response
I am committing or recommitting my life to Christ and His purpose for me.
I am going to trust Jesus with a challenge or question I have.
I am going to step out in faith and do something I feel Jesus is telling me to do.
