“A New Creation and a Renewed Mind”

Romans 12:2 (NLT) – Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing THE WAY YOU THINK. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

1. Anyone who BELONGS to Christ is a NEW CREATION.

John 3:1-7 (NIV) – 1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.” 3In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” 4“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” 5Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’

John 1:10-13 (NLT) – 10He came into the very world he CREATED, but the world didn’t recognize him. 11He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. 12But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD. 13They are REBORN—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a BIRTH that comes FROM GOD.

2. Anyone who is a New Creation has a NEW STORY.


2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) – …is a new creation; OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY; behold, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW.

3. Everyone who is a New Creation LIVES “IN CHRIST” and Christ LIVES “IN THEM”.

Galatians 2:20 (NLT) – My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but CHRIST LIVES IN ME. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) – For we are God’s masterpiece. He has CREATED us anew “IN CHRIST” JESUS, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Colossians 3:1-3 (NLT) – 1Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2THINK ABOUT the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3For you died to this life, and YOUR REAL LIFE is HIDDEN WITH CHRIST IN GOD.
