BEYOND RESILIENT
“Living Big-Hearted and Open-Handed!”
Pastor Doug Heisel – April 14, 2024
Ephesians 2:1-10 – As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Proverbs 11:24-25 – The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.
Isaiah 32:8 – Generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity.
2 Samuel 9:3 – “Is there anyone left of Saul’s family that I can show the kindness of God to?”
2 Samuel 9:7 – “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”
2 Samuel 9:13 – … So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table as if he were one of the king’s sons…
Ask the Lord to CHANGE anything, in you, that does not REFLECT His heart and hands.
The condition of my HEART,
is not contingent on the BEHAVIOR of others.Ask the Lord to LEVERAGE more of your heart and hands, to build His CHURCH and advance His MISSION.
